Boldenone is a synthetic steroidal injectable anabolic drug derived from the male sex hormone testosterone. Boldenone Undecylenate has a long-term effect, it is used for additional treatment of horses when they must gain weight, improve appetite, coat, increase energy and muscle mass, general physical condition.

It is indicated for horses recovering from illness, surgery, overwork, or other serious stress

Boldenone Undecylenate should not be used:

• In animals with prostate or breast cancer.
• In pregnant animals due to masculinization of the fetuses.
• In young animals – it can cause serious disturbances such as premature closure of growth plates, and abnormal sexual development.
• In either stallions or non-pregnant mares intended for reproduction.

Dosage and side effects

The drug is administered at a rate of 1 mg/kg of body weight intramuscularly. Repeated at 3 weeks interval.

In horses, the drug causes sodium and water retention, virilization and hepatotoxicity.

The drug is not recommended for people, because it can cause the following side effects:

• increasing the level of “bad” cholesterol in the blood;
• virilization;
• gynecomastia;
• slight suppression of testosterone production in the body;
• acne in the chest, back, and shoulders.
