Active substance: Testosterone Propionate 100 mg
Testosterone Propionate, the main active substance, metabolizes into a pure natural testosterone. It is a quality anabolic steroid giving more stamina and energy. The adverse effects of this medication are pretty mild due to the fact that it is indistinguishable from the same hormone that is naturally produced by our body. It is used in men to replace testosterone to treat various health problems caused by a lack of testosterone (male hypogonadism). This should be confirmed by two separate measurements of testosterone in the blood and also include such clinical symptoms as impotence, infertility, low sexual desire, fatigue, depression, bone loss caused by low level of the hormone testosterone.
Testosterone Propionate can also be used to control breast cancer in postmenopausal women.
- An allergy to testosterone propionate or any other component of this medication.
- Androgen-dependent prostate or breast cancer.
- Liver tumors – in the past or present.
- High levels of calcium in the blood along with malignant neoplasms.
- Heart attack in the past or other serious heart pathologies.
- Atherosclerosis.
- Pregnancy and lactation.
Dosage and side effects
The most common dose for men with hypogonadism (inability to produce sperm or sex hormones) is 50 mg of testosterone propionate, injected 2 or 3 times a week.
The most common dose for men with delayed puberty or with undescended testicles is 50 mg of testosterone propionate, administered as a weekly injection.
The most common dose for postmenopausal women with breast cancer is 100 mg of testosterone propionate, injected 2 or 3 times a week.
For older patients, lower doses should be prescribed. Testosterone Propionate is used only for intramuscular injection. Special care should be taken to avoid getting it into a blood vessel.
If you feel the effect of Testosterone Propionate is too strong or too weak, talk with your doctor.
If you stop taking the drug, you may experience symptoms of testosterone deficiency
Like all medicines, Testosterone Propionate can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them. The most common side effects are acne and pain at the injection site.
Common side effects (may affect up to 1 in 10 people):
abnormally high levels of red blood cells in the blood; weight gain; acne; increase in prostate-specific antigen; enlarged prostate size and related problems; various reactions at the injection site (for example, pain, discomfort, itching, redness, bruising, or irritation); increase in the number of red blood cells, hematocrit (as a percentage of red blood cells) detected by periodic blood tests.
